April 24 Grow For It! One of the hardest things in life is trying to go it alone. This is as true in the work world as it is in your spiritual life. And when the summer comes, temptations come as well. You can either just try to go through the temptations or you can choose to grow through the temptations. And it is hard to understand why the trials come on us when we seem to be just surfacing for air. Either you can just suffer through them or you can choose to grow through them. Grow For It will help us to understand that in all of these areas, if we are to grow, we must first resolve not to go it alone, and secondly, that we have a choice in how we deal with the trials. It's not so much what happens to you, but IN you, that matters. So choose to Grow For It and don't look back.
May 1 Hope For the Best! There are many voices that will call out to you and try to lure you off the path of following Jesus. Romance, lust, making money, "good times" with friends. But if you belong to God, Paul advises you to flee from all of those. Flee as if it were a poisonous snake coming after you. Because that old serpent, the devil, is coming after you to defeat you. He wants nothing more than to take you down. There is only safety in pursuing God. Seek Him and a thousand struggles of the heart can be cut short. Don't just hope for the best, decide to pursue the best.
