GCA's Barn Party
GCA’s Barn Party is fun for the whole family.
Come dressed in your favorite fall attire. Hayrides, Music, Food for Sale, and many other activities. Taking place at GCA’s Gym 2, Track, and Football Field from 7:00 to 9:30 pm
Pathfinder Sabbath and Can Collecting
Our Pathfinders are coming in full uniform to remind us of their amazing God-given talents and their dedication to use them in His service. This is also their can-collecting weekend. Every year, Pathfinders gather non-perishable food items to make Thanksgiving baskets to help those who need them. Please consider bringing a canned good to church on Sabbath to support their effort.
Sabbath Afternoon Hike
Our Something on Sabbath team is planning an afternoon hike for students and members to fellowship together. They plan to leave at 1:00 pm. The return time is just a guess, but students will be back in time for supper. Location to be determined.
Community Thanksgiving Worship Service
Community Thanksgiving Worship Service to be led by GCA’s Magnify Worship Team. Free admission. Open to all ages. An offering for the local food banks will be collected. Mike Reynolds from Freedom Agriculture will be sharing the message.
ABC Bookmobile
The ABC Bookmobile is coming to Calhoun.
They will set up at the Georgia-Cumberland Academy church in the lower parking lot next to the road. If it is raining, look for them up under the awning of the church entrance.
They always have books and food to shop from, but the best way to get what you need is to call in and reserve an order. They are happy to bring anything they carry in the Collegedale store, and without a delivery fee. So feel free to call 423-396-2814 and add items for personal use, ministry, Sabbath School, Adventurers, Pathfinders, Evangelism, etc.

The shower will be come and go. It will be help at Susan Jenkins home at 637 Academy Circle SW; Calhoun, GA 30701.

Dominican Republic Mission Trip
The Joint Mission Trip we are planning with the Calhoun Church has been postponed until March of 2027. We will help build a church, hold a VBS Program and a Medical Clinic. We are also raising $15,000 to help fund the new church for our Dominican church family. Mark your gift “Dominican Mission Trip.” Online Giving has a line item for this as well. Bonfire Event
Following Eventide, we will have a Something on Sabbath Social event for members and students to fellowship together. We will have a HUGE Bonfire and s’mores. We are asking that church members bring candy to share with our students as well.
7 Bridges Marathon
The 7 Bridges Marathon starts at Coolidge Park near the Big Blue Rhino (and the Chattanooga Theatre) on Tremont Avenue. The new course crosses the 4 bridges downtown and 3 “upgraded” bridges on the North Chick Greenway. The course is road, concrete, and asphalt. Aid stations and bathroom facilities are available almost every mile. There is a 7 hour time limit.
There is also a half marathon, a 10K, a 5K, and a 1K Fun Run. These races do not have a time limit.
October Potluck
Our October potluck theme is Fall Harvest. It will take place after church in the fellowship hall. Susan Jenkins will be coordinating our potluck this month. Sign up link below.

Pastor Appreciation Sabbath
We have the most amazing pastors, and we want them to feel the love our church has for them. Please come and join our heartfelt celebration of our pastors. If you would like to make a donation towards the gifts we plan to give them and/or a card expressing your appreciation, please see Lori Anderson, as she is collecting those for the elders.
ACROFEST
Acrofest is a high-energy gymnastics festival where students work with the GCA Acroflyers team and coaches through stations covering acrosports, tossing, pyramids, tumbling, two-highs, and more. The weekend ends with a student performance on Sunday afternoon. Pathfinders can also earn the Tumbling and Balancing honor — individual members and whole clubs are warmly invited!
For students in grades 5–8… All skill levels welcome! The sooner you register the more you save.
Magnify Worship Festival
MagnifyWorship Festival is a hands-on worship music festival where students rehearse in bands alongside GCA worship leaders and guest clinicians, develop their instrument or vocal skills in focused breakout sessions, and grow in leadership, stage presence, and faith. The weekend wraps up with attendees leading worship at vespers, Sabbath School, or church — a genuinely moving experience for students and families alike. For students in grades 6–11. The sooner you register the more you save.

Southern Union Pathfinder Camporee at Camp Kulaqua
Our Pathfinders are headed to the Southern Union Camporee. They will join clubs from conferences all over the Southeast to learn and worship together.

Our Southern Georgia Mission Trip will take place during the first half of fall break.
Hunger Walk
2026 Hunger Walk to fight local hunger
12% of Gordon County residents live in poverty. We are told 100% of all donations are given to the local food banks to help those who need it. Students who participate will receive community service credit.

PARENTS WEEKEND
Each fall, GCA hosts a Parents’ Weekend that features all the musical groups, Acroflyers, great speakers, inspiring testimonies, class-on-class Football Mania, and a parents’ appreciation brunch on Sunday morning.
Ben Maxson’s and our children’s Sabbath School classes will still meet in the church as normal. Youth Sabbath School and Church will meet in the Wally Fox Wellness Center.
GCC Young Adult Life Retreat
It is a new era for Young Adult LIFE as, for the first time, ACF is merged with our annual YA retreat to form a fresh, all-encompassing, and community-embracing weekend full of fun, edification, and above all, connection with Jesus. With reimagined opportunities to connect with fellow young adults as well as our Savior, there's no better way to kick off the holiday season. Angelo Grasso leads us to the Scripture on a Spirit-led adventure to discover why, by the grace of God Most High, we are ~STRONGER TOGETHER~. This event is to take place October 30 through November 1.
All day Sabbath and Sunday morning meals will be provided (**no meal on Friday night**). Make sure to bring your own linens for the cabins.

We celebrate Hispanic Heritage that many of our staff and students share, this weekend. What a joy to be able to enjoy their many talents and recognize all of the different countries that are represented on campus this year.

SOS - Nursing Home Visit
Something On Sabbath (SOS) - Campus Ministries and our Social Committee have planned a joint event for Students and Members to visit local nursing homes, spend time with residents, and sing to them.
WEEK OF PRAYER
Week of Prayer Meetings nightly the week of August 31-September 4. Monday through Thursday, we will meet at 7:00 pm, and Friday night we will meet at 7:30 pm.
BREAD
Help kick off the year by opening your home to students on August 29! BREAD is a simple, meaningful way for students and church members to connect and get to know one another over a home cooked meal.
We want every student who'd like a home cooked meal to have one, and we need hosts to make that happen. If you're able to welcome a few students into your home after church on August 29, please sign up.
